ChatGPT Finds $1.5B in Tax Refunds

while 32% can’t distinguish AI from humans

Hello and welcome back to another thrilling day in accounting, as 32% can’t distinguish AI from humans and tax payers are missing out on $1.5 billion.

The IRS estimates almost $1.5 billion in refunds remain unclaimed because people haven't filed their 2019 tax returns yet.

This is a tremendous opportunity for tax pros as there are over 1.5 million Americans who have not filed yet.

Quite a bit has been left on the table as the average median refund for tax year 2019 was $893.

Under the law, taxpayers have three years to file and claim their tax refunds.

The deadline is July 17, 2023.

If they don't file by 7/17/23, the money becomes the property of the U.S. Treasury.

Ouch. 🤕

🗞️ News: 32% Can't Distinguish AI from Humans

Before you play the game “Human or Not,I warn you in advance its addictive.

The company who runs it, AI21 Labs found that a whopping 32% of people can’t tell the difference between a human and an AI bot.

The game, which the company said is the largest-scale Turing Test to date, analyzed more than a million conversations and guesses.

These bots were clever and designed to deceive humans.

For example, players assumed bots don’t make typos, grammar mistakes or use slang, even though most models in the game were trained to make these types of mistakes and to use slang words.

The biggest shocker from this experiment is that most people were duped into believing the bots were human do to the fact that they assumed that “most things humans do online may be rude”.
