PwC chairman Kevin Ellis seems to think the future of work will feature less WFH PJs and more office-bound robots.

In the bustling world of corporate bean counting, Ellis is suggesting a new take on AI’s role. He believes that robots and AI could give office life a new lease, bringing workers scurrying back to cubicle land in an attempt to prove they're more than just fleshy versions of Siri or Alexa.

During a live chat on AI, Ellis, addressing his captive audience of 25,000 PwC staff, warned of a future where the fresh-faced new hires might soon find themselves leapfrogging to third-year efficiency thanks to our robot overlords. "Freeing people up to do more", or making them feel like they're in a sci-fi sequel, I’m not too sure.

And get this, he claims that the rise of AI could motivate people to return to the office. The reason? A good old-fashioned face-off. Humans want to prove they've got what robots can’t offer - the human touch. And they might just have to do it the old-fashioned way - in person.
